My passion is to
create works of art that touch people deeply. Guided by intuition, I
represent both the physical and unseen worlds of our innermost
fantasies and desires. The human face and the human condition
fascinate me most. In portraits I aim to capture the essence of a
person’s spirit, their values, personal treasures and how they see
the world.
I’ve been painting for over 40 years. Like many women, I had a young
family and worked in other fields while maintaining my art practice
- designing public murals, running art workshops and taking portrait
commissions in my spare time.
In 2002, I came to an acceptance that my managerial career was not
what made my soul sing and this led to a return to art school and
the beginning of a new life. My first solo art exhibition was in
2005 at the Piece Gallery in Mullumbimby, NSW.
Since then, I’ve exhibited in a number of galleries and group shows
through NSW and Qld. I live in Brisbane and enjoy teaching others to express themselves creatively, creating my own artworks and doing private commissions.
I am inspired by Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) and my most recent artwork is somewhat surreal and very symbolic in nature.
